Neo-Deco Bronze Railing

Is this a joint venture: No
Category: Interior Railings - Ferrous and Nonferrous - Forged
Designed by: Architect
Total Labor Hours: 3136
Finish Type: Oil-rubbed, Sealed
Materials Used: Silicon Bronze
General Description: This Neo-Deco bronze railing is more than just a functional element; it’s a work of art that seamlessly integrates design, craftsmanship, and innovation. Aligning with the skylights above, natural light accentuates the 40 LF railing’s custom silicon bronze turned balusters, bronze tube escutcheon plates, silicon bronze turned spherical finials, and elaborate volute. The wishbone design is coped into the balusters creating a one-of-a-kind feature. Every intricate detail was brought to life through design, fabrication, rolling, casting, machining, and patination. The overall challenge was to match the railing to the existing stair. Extensive measuring and templating took place, and the railing fit perfectly. There were also hundreds of parts that were very similar. Templates were created to check sizes and install them in a systematized manner. Having no exposed fasteners or welds presented its own set of challenges. Welds were placed strategically, and pins were used with hidden connections at every baluster for a seamless finish to this artful railing.

Cheaper by the Foot???

Is this a joint venture: No
Category: Interior Railings - Nonferrous, Nonforged
Designed by: Architect
Total Labor Hours: 2389
Finish Type: Powder coated and polished bronze finish
Materials Used: Steel railings with bronze caprail and rosettes
General Description: This project was a beautiful design developed by our client that demanded the best in design and craftsmanship. If you think about magnitude (344ft of railing), complexity, and detail demands, these railings had them all. The areas included the main, cat, wine room, bowling alley, closet, theater, kitchen, and serpentine stair areas. The different areas had various dimensions that ultimately changed the standard oval design. As the stairs turned, so did the ovals which required various height changes, curving the flat bar both vertically and horizontally, and staying symmetrical. Additionally, the architect wanted the design to have lefthand and righthand designs with custom volutes, custom extruded bronze caprail, and special-order rosettes. This project was set at a very tight deadline that was nearly impossible to meet, and the installation challenges that are present when fastening to non-structural marble columns and fragile marble flooring made it worse.

Contemporary high contrast

Is this a joint venture: No
Category: Interior Railings - Nonferrous, Nonforged
Designed by: Fabricator/Architect Jointly
Total Labor Hours: 320
Finish Type: Combination of matte black paint, mirror polished stainless steel, and high gloss white paint.
Materials Used: Mild steel round and flat bars. 304 stainless steel round and flat bars. Poplar.
General Description: A unique stair rail for a very unique home. The inspiration for the design came from the design of the front door which was already selected and ordered. The "posts" have a continuous stainless-steel post running through the center with a high gloss white poplar insert sitting in a polished stainless-steel frame. Surrounded by a matte black elliptical arch to complement the details of the entry door. The horizontal infill is a combination of a matte black steel flat bar and mirror polished stainless round bar. Combining the finishes with very crisp transitions and not damaging one while finishing the other was not an easy task and took quite a bit of time masking and touching up.
