History

The National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association was formed in 1958 to serve the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry. Today we have nearly 600 members across the U.S. and in several other countries. Our members produce the full spectrum of ornamental and miscellaneous metalwork, ranging from railings to driveway gates, and from sculpture to light structural steel.

NOMMA's largest event is the METALfab convention and trade show, which typically takes place every year in March each year in different cities around the U.S. We also publish the industry's trade magazine, Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metal Fabricator, which goes out to thousands of shops.

We are particularly proud of our Technical Affairs Committee and the NOMMA Education Foundation, which were both launched in 2001. Through the Technical Affairs Committee, NOMMA actively represents the industry on various code, standards, and government committees and keeps the members up-to-date on related information. The NOMMA Education Foundation offers education to strengthen the industry and in particular NOMMA members.

NOMMA is committed to improving the industry through education and advocacy work. We are also dedicated to educating owners and the design/build community on the many advantages or ornamental and miscellaneous metalwork.
