Todd Kinnikin Memorial METALfab Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship                                                                  

The UMWC provides this $1,500 scholarship to honor the memory of our friend and colleague, Todd Kinnikin, of Eureka Forge, in Pacific, MO. The UMWC and NEF have partnered to make available an outstanding education and networking experience for a NOMMA fabricator member.

Criteria for Scholarship Selection

  • Applicant must be an owner or employee of a NOMMA member companies engaged in the fabrication of ornamental and miscellaneous metals
  • Applicant must submit a completed application by December 20 annually. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Applicant must agree to provide a brief written statement of the value of the experience as well as dated receipts within 30 days after the event is over.
  • The following are ineligible for the scholarship: members of the selection committee, NEF trustees, NOMMA board members, NOMMA staff, and family members of the above. "Family member" is defined as spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, or spouse of a child, sibling, or grandchild.

General Information

  • The UMWC has committed to provide a reimbursement of up to $1,500 to the scholarship recipient.

  • The reimbursement is to cover the recipients cost of registration and expenses to attend METALfab.

  • Within 30 days after the conclusion of METALfab, the recipient must furnish dated receipts for expenses and submit a brief written statement on the value of the experience to nef@nomma.org.

  • After review and approval of the aforementioned items, the designated recipient will be reimbursed up to $1,500. 

Scholarship Timeline

  • Submit application by December 20 annually.
  • The scholarship selection committee made up of UMWC board members, NEF trustees, NOMMA board members, and the Kinnikin family will review the applications and select the recipient of the scholarship.
  • The scholarship winner will be announced at the winter UMWC meeting. Scholarships are non-transferable.
  • Dated receipts and brief written statement are due 30 days after the last day of METALfab to nef@nomma.org.

Items Required for Application Submission

  • Basic contact information and industry background 
  • Signed statement from employer acknowledging form (for applicants who are not the owner)

    • Download and have your direct supervisor or owner complete the employer acknowledgement form. 

    • You will upload the completed form with your application.

  • Statement explaining the benefits that you, the applicant, hope to receive from attending METALfab
