Title: "The Game-Winning 3" - Making It Count...In Business and In Life
Presenter: Dave Davlin
Description: Success can be defined in its simplest form as making life better for someone else. In this interactive, humorous and powerful presentation, Dave shares three essential ingredients for developing a purpose-driven mentality to achieve a fulfilling career and balanced life. You will be challenged to make the most of every moment in order to develop yourself personally and professionally while creating value and making a difference in the lives of others.

Educate Your Architects
Presenter: Amos Glick
Description: This session will focus on becoming an AIA continuing education provider, and provide insights on taking the knowledge that you have in your business to turn it into an educational course to present to architects. The goal of this session is to share insights and tips so you can effectively build your own course. We will detail the requirements for learning objectives, health, safety, and welfare, and other critical content.

Tweaking Your Budget to Sustain in Uncertain Times
Presenter: Mike Workman
Description: The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all businesses in varying capacities. Some can operate business as usual with modifications while others continue to struggle. This session will discuss reducing unnecessary expenses and revamping your budget to evaluate how the economic impact will affect your shop rate.

A Virtual Shop Tour of Two NOMMA Shops
Presenters: Jonathan Falk and Kendall Shrock
Description: Attendees will get the opportunity to virtually visit two NOMMA member shops located in Colorado and Pennsylvania by video in one session. Not only will attendees get to see the layout of each shop, but they will also get the opportunity to ask questions of the hosts. You will not want to miss this session with a unique representation of NOMMA members from across the United States.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Circular Stair Installation
Presenter: James Moseley
Description: This session will review the ins and outs of building a curved stair from design to installation. The first half of the session will feature a pre-recorded video reviewing the design process, the build, and the installation of a curved stair. The remaining time will allow attendees to ask questions of the presenter.

An Introduction to the Revised NOMMA Joint Finishes Guide
Presenter: Roger Carlsen
Description: A close up look at the recently released NOMMA Voluntary Joint Finishes Guide 2.1. The welded joints have been newly fabricated, professionally photographed and put together in a user-friendly format. A new dimension to this guide is the addition of a complete set of photographs of the joins prior to priming. These can be used as examples for the fabricating welder as well as a selling point to the client.

Building Leaders Throughout an Organization
Presenter: Uriah Bueller, WELL AP
Description: How we lead defines the direction our business grows. And this topic is for EVERY person in an organization, not just the owner. We each have opportunities to lead every day. We lead by example, with the decisions we make, and how we interact within and outside an organization.

Diversify Your Workflow with Manufacturing Projects
Presenters: Robert Thomas, Douglas Bracken, Kendall Shrock
Description: In this panel discussion, Doug Bracken, Kendall Shrock, and Robert Thomas will discuss why they decided to diversity their business with long-term manufacturing projects. The panel will discuss the pros and cons of bringing manufacturing into the workshop and how it has changed their perspectives and approaches to custom ironwork projects as well as future manufacturing projects.

ADA/ABA Basics for Ramps, Stairs & Handrails
Presenter: Tom Zuzik, Jr.
Description: This course will begin with a brief history of ADA/ABA/UFAS and how they are written; and then explain how the LAWs apply to the product, that fabricators build and install every day; and then cover the differences between ADA, ABA & UFAS. Next, we will dive into how ADA affects the accessibility sections of the Local Authority Having Jurisdiction's Adopted Building Code and cover the sections of the ADA/ABA requirements that mainly affect today's fabricator and the downfalls of non-compliance.

 

The Basics of Bonding
Presenter: Jill Tucker, CIC, CRM
Description: Contract surety bonds are a crucial part of many construction projects. They provide important protection for project owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and lenders. At their core, contract-related bonds secure both project performance and payment of project-related costs. After this presentation, you will have a better understanding of what a surety bond is and be able to anticipate and prepare documents that the surety bond producer will require. You will also be able to take the necessary steps to qualify for and/or increase bonding capacity.

The Basics of Insurance for Your Business
Presenter: Andrew Stergiou
Description:This educational workshop will include information about Insurance 101, including information about general liability, workers compensation, automobile, property/inland marine, and umbrella coverages. Topics will include necessary coverages that all ornamental and miscellaneous metals businesses should have and be aware of in their insurance policies. The workshop will help small and large businesses that want an understanding of broad insurance coverages.
