Building Codes are very important whenever you are building any type of structure. Understanding the building codes for stairs can be challenging because every state has slightly different laws. There are also different types of building codes for different types of stairs.
Stairs may not seem very dangerous. However, they kill more than 4,000 people every single year throughout the United States. As a homeowner, you need to understand how to make staircases much safer.
UL-325 standard and the ASTM F-2200 standard are the requirements shown in the building codes that automatic entry gates are to comply with.
For more than 60 years, NOMMA members have been trusted members of the metal fabricating industry and also have become trusted contributors in their local communities. Our members aspire to surpass the highest level of craftsmanship as well as stay current on the latest techniques, technology, and building codes. For customers, this means that you are working with the best people in the industry who will deliver superior quality results.
In 2002, NOMMA organized the Technical Affairs Committee and Technical Affairs Support team that works closely in three areas:
The Technical Affairs Support team works to ensure that the industry is fairly represented with various organizations including the International Code Council, Underwriters Laboratories, the American National Standards Institute, and American Society of Testing & Materials, and the ADA Accessibility Guidelines Committee.
We offer technical support to our members in the areas of codes and standards. Information is regularly disseminated to the membership via the website and the NOMMA Newswire.
The Technical Affairs Committee continually works on providing information to members, special projects and new publications to provide valuable resources to the membership and industry. Noteworthy projects include the NAAMM/NOMMA Metal Finishes Manual and our Standard Trade Practices Manual.
